North American Radio Blitz! Festivals! Canada!
We have been doubly blessed with features on two solid-senders, fighting the radio good fight in our home on the range …. First, NPR’s World Cafe released a live session we had the pleasure of recording at Chicago’s own WBEZ studio. We played 4 hot jamz and gave a candid, sexy-assed interview to David Dye - hitting the people with a bunch of do’s and don’ts for child rearing on tour… we don’t shy away from controversy and we always shoot from the hip.
Secondly, we are also barnstorming the satellite radio world, with a session we recorded for Sirius XM's The Village / Sirius XM The Bridge being broadcast July 24th- 30th in the US and Canada : Sunday July 24 -“The Village Folk Show” on The Bridge, SiriusXM ch32 and on the SiriusXM App @ 6 am-10 am ET and 8pm-12 midnight PT. Birds of Chicago Live! around 9 AM ET and 11 PM PT. This show will rebroadcast on SiriusXM The Village ch741 online in the USA and Canada all week ( 6x), July 25 Monday 9PM ET (Village Folk Show 6-10 PM ET), July 26 Tuesday 3PM ETAND 6PM ET (Village Folk Show 12-4 PM ET), July 28Thursday 11 AM ET (Village Folk Show 8-12 PM ET), July 29Friday 12 PM ET, July 30Saturday 10 AM ET. The show will also be available for 2 weeks on demand at siriusxm.com/ondemand <http://siriusxm.com/ondemand> under The Bridge.
Satellite radio is similar to regular radio, except the shows are broadcast from American or Russian space stations orbiting the earth. It’s incredibly gratifying to think of our songs helping those crews deal with the long hours, endless repairs, and physical challenges of months at a time spent in zero gravity… Anyway, thanks so much to Mary Sue Twohy and her amazing team for having us on the show and helping get the word out about Real Midnight. In other news - our first video for this new Real Midnight album - Kinderspel (child's game) - was filmed by the marvelous Gabriel Judet- Weinshel/ Wax Wing Films and premiered on AFROPUNK.

These are troubled times we're living in... Whenever we start to feel overwhelmed by the news, by the seemingly endless reports of violence and hatred run wild- by the ominous "macro"- we come back to the micro- we turn to some simple basics: music heals, loving community heals, the vast majority of people want to be good to each other, we can listen more with open minds and hearts to another's truth and experience, we can reach out a little more, we can love each other a little better, small things, small kindnesses can and do make a big difference...We appreciate you all greatly- Peace and Love, your BOC
